Occupy Flint: Election Day – Nov. 8th

Occupy Flint supporters set up tents on the lawn at Flint City Hall along Saginaw St. downtown, were the 52nd precinct polling station is located. Planning to occupy the space for 24 hours and “stand up for the right of Americans to freely assemble and voice their grievances,” they talked with voters and passed out flyers to cars driving by.

According the statement handed out by Occupy Flint supporters regarding the election day action, ” We do not endorse either candidate, rather we protest the system that allows money to determine the size of one’s voice. In less than 2 months over 3,000 Americans have been arrested, brutalized and falsely imprisoned for simply exercising their constitutionally protected right to assemble; we stand with them in solidarity.”
