Fishermen and Others Hurt by the Spill
I drove down to Saint Bernard, Louisiana from Detroit the third week of the spill. BP was just getting their Vessels of Opportunity program organized to employ local fisherman to assist in the cleanup. Captains and deckhands were lining up at BP claim centers to file for lost wages, as their fishing areas were closed because of the spill.
